The story behind our 5 Knives line of Vermont grown bacon, ham and sausages is unique. We teamed up with food distributor Black River Produce to create an ideal situation for an excellent farmer to launch what soon became the central enterprise of his farm.
 
The 5 Knives web site now tells that story and how 5 Knives’ first farmer Greg Finch raises his pigs – and about the resulting delicious bits of pork we smoke or otherwise prepare for you.

The half ham size of our Finch Family Farms pork ham.  Half a ham, from the same hams from which we cut our ham steaks.

This is the size for a nice family dinner.  We suggest 1/3 to 1/2 lb per person.

Our Petite Hams are at once a revelation and a throwback to an earlier day.  These pieces of ham haven't been tumbled as long as hams that get netted to make teardrop-shape hams, so they are a bit more firm, like a bone-in ham.  And the smaller size gives them more surface area per pound, so they soak up extra smoke and flavor.  The result for you is a delicious little ham.
